I'm an expert in Web Micro-frameworks, Object-Relational Mappers (ORM) and templating engines for PHP, Perl, Python.
I've built large web applications in PHP with the full Symfony2 and Zend Framework stacks, but I much prefer mixing and matching libraries according to the situation. That is why I love Perl: CPAN and an exquisitely clever and fun community which propels it daily into a renaissance of modern web development. Python web development used to hurt until the appearance of micro-frameworks like Flask.
I deploy web applications on Unix servers almost exclusively. I compile my own Linux kernel and hand tune the Apache and PHP source code. I have a special fondness for BSD's though, especially OpenBSD.
I set up niche web servers written in Perl (starman) or Python (gunicorn) because Apache seems too conventional to me, now. The bleeding edge of Nginx helps with that some days, though.
Superior officers thought it seemly to entrust me with high level security clearances during my decade-long military service as a US Marine.
